At first it was just green, brown, and blue. Then, I added punches of orange. My orange phase didn't last too long. A little orange goes a long way.
Anyway, here is a before - one of many configurations:

I am still crazy about these curtains so I will give them a try in the new room before packing them away.
I loved the blue chairs too but could never make them fir quite right. So, I sold them in my booth and made enough money to buy the new sofa.
Okay, so we spent 2 nights last week painting the green living room white. What a difference a few hours and not even two gallons of paint can make!!
Here is the after (so far) --- we picked the sofa up on Saturday and I picked the rug up this afternoon.
This is not the "after after" -- I still have to hang the artwork and find some curtains.

The rug really warmed the room up!
That big huge gray thing - that is a set of school lockers I purchased in Arkansas last weekend. I used it as a room divider (and will show you more when the kitchen remodel happens -since those are in the kitchen.) BUT, I had a big problem of the backside of the lockers facing the living room...so I used the locker backs as if they were a wall:

I like the extra wall space it provides
Not quite finished - still have art to hang behind the sofa (still looking for the perfect pieces) and I have got to find some curtains... but so far we are loving it and enjoying it more than we have the whole time we have lived here!
I will show more photos as soon as I finish! THEN, on to the dining room and I have big plans for that as well!

It's looking really good! I love your curtains, but I'm an orange gal all the way!! A little does go a long way though. I think the curtains will pop against your new white walls.
How about making a trek up to Greensboro and painting my living room?? It's a goldenrod yellow, which I actually like, but it's so dark in there since there is no overhead light. Also, need a new couch. Unfortunately the way the room is configured, there is only one wall that the couch can go on. I guess the challenge is all about working with what you've got!
